Our Vision For A Carbon Neutral Future

Our Vision For A Carbon Neutral Future

We have a bold aspiration to make North East Lincolnshire and Grimsby the UK’s leading region for low-carbon energy and the UK capital of the renewable energy industry.

Grimsby used to be the world’s biggest fishing port, but our community now deserves a sense of aspiration for their local area and a clear vision built around a shared sense of place.

Renewable energy offers boundless economic and social potential to drive wider transformation and investment across the region. As a council we are trying to use the opportunities that low carbon technology and renewables bring to raise that level of ambition.

Building the Future Now Roundtable

The ‘Building the Future Now’ roundtable event took place in Westminster on 22nd March 2017. Industry and government experts came together to exchange views and ideas with local leaders from North East Lincolnshire, who shared their local industrial strategy vision for renewable technology. This video mixes highlights from the roundtable with short interviews from senior delegates.
The Clean Break Summit

The Clean Break Summit

To successfully deliver regional industrial transformation, strategic authorities responsible for growth must take a holistic approach to energy locally. Power, heat and transport are practical key considerations. The heavily interdependent agendas for skills, infrastructure and technology adoption are vital policy problems that must be addressed.

In order to do so, The Clean Break Summit is a national event that will bring together national leaders, influencers and experts with local politicians and captains of industry. In addition to a UK audience, the conference organisers will be working with conference partners to engage a number of international leaders and investors in renewables to the Summit.
